Show complete - graduated!
I finished my BFA show about language in jewelry. Using the concept of Victorian name pins, I changed the names and mottos used in the late 1800s to language we see and use today. By juxtaposing a popular word on a pierced, chased form, I hoped to highlight how language and adornment have changed with time. I included some of the newest slang words selected by the Oxford Online English Dictionary, and the word of the year voted by the American Dialect Society. Of course selfie made the list as did mooc, google, and a quirky British expression, amazeballs.
